International Microorganism Day

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek (1632 – 1723) was a Dutch self-taught scientist, recognised as the father of microbiology and a master of microscopy. International Microbiology Day is celebrated annually in honour of a letter dated 17 September 1683, in which van Leeuwenhoek, was the first to describe microorganisms from the human oral cavity.

We have prepared some bacterial art to promote the diversity and variety of microorganisms.
